RATTAWU President Felicitates With Nigerians On 66th Independence Anniversary

The President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU )of Nigeria; Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers), felicitates with Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora as the Nation celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.

Comrade Kalu, on behalf of the National Leadership and the entire membership of RATTAWU, congratulates Nigerians for witnessing another significant milestone in the nation’s journey of independence, nation-building and development.

He describes Nigeria as a Nation richly endowed with human and natural resources, diverse cultures, traditions, creativity and talents capable of contributing immensely to National development.

President Kalu stressed that, despite the challenges confronting the Nation, there remains numerous positive values and achievements that Nigerians must continue to celebrate, promote and preserve.

He noted that the strength of Nigeria lies not only in its natural resources, but also in the resilience, creativity, diversity and determination of its people.

According to him, RATTAWU, as the largest Media and Cultural Workers Union in Africa, will continue to use its platforms to project the positive values that abound in Nigeria, promote responsible media and culture, and contribute meaningfully to National development.

He emphasised the important role of media, theatre, broadcasting, the arts and the creative industry in shaping National consciousness, promoting unity and preserving the nation’s cultural heritage.

Comrade Kalu called on Media and Cultural practitioners to continue to use their professional platforms responsibly by promoting messages that encourage peace, unity, patriotism, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.

He further urged Nigerians to see the Independence Anniversary as an opportunity to renew their commitment to building a more united, peaceful, prosperous and inclusive nation, stressing that nation-building requires the collective responsibility of government, workers, professionals, civil society and citizens.

The RATTAWU President also acknowledges the sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers and those who have contributed to the growth and development of the country over the years, urging the present generation to protect and build upon the legacies of those who worked for Nigeria’s independence.

He assured that RATTAWU under his leadership will remain committed to protecting the welfare and interests of Media and Cultural Workers while strengthening the contribution of the sector to national development.

He therefore wishes all Nigerians a peaceful, memorable and inspiring 66th Independence Anniversary, expressing confidence that with collective responsibility, patriotism, unity and a renewed commitment to positive national values, Nigeria can continue to move forward.
