The National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers’ Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU), Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, popularly known as Magic Fingers, on Saturday led a high-powered delegation of union leaders to Umuofiagu-Ukehe, Igbo-Etiti LGA, Enugu State to stand in solidarity with one of its distinguished members, Comrade Jane Ozoemena, during the burial rites of her late mother.

The solemn ceremony, held at the palace of the late Igwe Peter Aninweze in Umuofiagu-Ukehe, drew the presence of members of the RATTAWU National Executive Council, State Council, and various chapter leadership, all of whom gathered to pay their last respects to the deceased, Late Lolo Nnemuruoha Maria Oyinnia Aninweze (née Ugbordiegwu).

The event was marked by an outpouring of sympathy, unity, and support for Comrade Ozoemena and her family during this period of mourning. Leading the delegation, Comrade Kalu emphasized the importance of solidarity within the union, noting that RATTAWU remains not only a professional body but also a family that stands together in times of joy and grief.

He described the late matriarch as a woman of virtue whose legacy lives on through her children and community, while urging members to continue upholding values of compassion, unity, and mutual support.

Other union leaders present echoed similar sentiments, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed and strength for the bereaved family.

The burial rites were conducted in accordance with local customs and traditions, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Ukehe community. The gathering also served as a moment of reflection and communal bonding among union members who traveled from different parts of the country to honor the memory of the deceased.

The presence of the RATTAWU leadership at the ceremony underscored the union’s commitment to fostering strong interpersonal relationships among its members beyond professional engagements.

Late Lolo Nnemuruoha Maria Oyinnia Aninweze is remembered as a loving mother, community figure, and matriarch whose life left a lasting impact on those who knew her.
