The President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) of Nigeria and the Vice President of UNI-MEI, Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu (Magic Fingers) sends his best wishes of love, peace and prosperity to members and Nigerians as the year 2026 is ushered in.

In a Presidential New Year message, President Kalu says the Year 2026 will experience the renewal of hope and thus provide an opportunity to review past struggles, achievements and lessons, while setting fresh goals for improved welfare and wellbeing of members of the Union.

He emphasized the need for us as Media and Cultural Workers to take time and reposition the Union to meet emerging industrial, technological and evolving core work conditions, which is anticipated as the year 2026 is welcomed.

He promised to reinforce unity, solidarity and the shared vision of protecting the rights, dignity and creative freedom of members at all times.

President Kalu assured of continuing the implementation of the 12-point agenda, which was part of his manifesto and shared vision when he sought the mandate of members and was elected as the President of the largest Media and Cultural Workers Union in Africa (RATTAWU).

He applauded the various supports and solidarity he is receiving from the Union, arising from the outcome of the visible recent engagements embarked upon immediately after his swearing in.

Comrade Prince Kalu emphasized the “philosophy of destructive change” , which is geared towards repositioning the Union by injecting New ideas and placing premium on results delivering rather than the feeling self entitlement.

He encouraged RATTAWU members to be visible and transformative in their orientation in order to key into the new developmental order permeating the Union and gaining acceptance.

He encouraged National Executive members of the Union and Chapter Leadership to be creative and ensure the light of progress envelopes and shines so bright,hence dispelling darkness and retrogression.

President Kalu promised to continue with the critical engagement with stakeholders which he started immediately he was sworn in.

The Unity of RATTAWU members he says will not be compromised and 2026, he assures, will be a year of Magic, therefore all hands must be on deck in pursuing excellence by sacrificing for the welfare and wellbeing of the members of the Union.

President Kalu wishes members God’s unfailing blessings throughout the year 2026.
