RATTAWU, the Radio, Television, Theatre, and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, has been making significant strides in the country’s cultural scene. Under the leadership of President Prince Emeka Kalu, the union recently made a noteworthy impact at the 55th Culture and Creative Economy Summit in Enugu.
At this event, they presented their vision for the International Arts and Craft Expo (INAC) and discussed strategies for shaping the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) 2025.

The union’s active participation highlights their renewed commitment to forging strategic partnerships and influencing policy in the cultural sector. RATTAWU has also been vocal about workers’ welfare, particularly at the National Arts Theatre, where they have raised concerns over potential job losses due to concession plans.
In addition, RATTAWU has elected new leaders, reaffirming their dedication to workers’ welfare. The union places a strong emphasis on accountability and transparency, believing these values are essential for responsible leadership.
RATTAWU’s efforts demonstrate their commitment to promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and supporting workers in the arts and media industries.
