It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, a globally respected evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, who departed this life on October 13, 2025, at the age of 80, OHAFIATV reports.
Rev. Ukpai, a founding father of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to spreading the gospel. His ministry, spanning several decades, touched millions across Nigeria and beyond through powerful crusades, healing services, and empowerment programs.

Born on January 7, 1945, in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, Rev. Ukpai was known for his passionate preaching, steadfast faith, and humility. He served as a spiritual father to many and was a unifying voice in the Nigerian church, particularly within the Pentecostal movement.
Tributes are pouring in from Christian leaders, government officials, and believers worldwide, celebrating his life and impact. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced soon by the family and the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association.
As one family members, Barr. Dr. Olugu Ukpai of CHAMA Mission Ministries International, expressed, “My father, God’s general, has gone home… Rest in peace, Daddy!” Rev. Ukpai’s passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy will endure, inspiring generations to come.
