Ex-Benue Gov. Suswam explains why 2024 budget cannot be implemented

Gabriel Suswam, a former governor of Benue State, has criticised President Bola Tinubu's planned budget for 2024. Suswam clarified that the N17 trillion shortfall in the budget prevents it from being implemented. N27.5 trillion 2024 appropriation bill has been approved by FEC.

On Monday, the Federal Executive Council gave its approval to the appropriation bill for the year 2024, which is expected to be presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu along with a total of N27.5 trillion. Ministers, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the national security adviser, and a few other high-ranking government officials, including permanent secretaries, are all members of the Council, which is the highest policy-forming body for the federal government.
