Nine Remanded for Allegedly Kidnapping and Killing Six Girls for Rituals

Nine individuals were remanded by an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Friday for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of six girls for ritual purposes. The defendants, Moses Aruwaji, Adebayo Azeez, Mariam Aruwaji, Akinwunmi, Sheriff Agbani, Samuel Monday, Osojieahon Aijonohouria, Peter Oluwalolese, and Jamiu Yufuf, were charged with kidnapping, murder, robbery, and conspiracy. Gunmen in Plateau State kill 35 cows and the herder.

A 17-year-old herder and 35 cows were slain by some as-yet-unidentified gunmen in the Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State at Doruwa Babuje in Ropp District and Nafan community in Fan District. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the perpetrators killed the herder by opening fire while riding motor cycles. During the incident, another herder suffered serious injuries.
