Gunmen kill vigilante leader’s wife in Enugu

Gunmen killed the wife of a local vigilante leader in Umuopu, Enugu-Ezike, a community in the Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State southeastern Nigeria. The incident occurred on Friday night. The victim, Ogochukwu Onuh, was shot to death after her husband, known simply as Akada, allegedly ran away from the gunmen. Sources said the gunmen were furious that the vigilante leader, who was their target, escaped, prompting them to kill the wife. Armed men kidnap traditional ruler in Imo

Armed men abducted the traditional ruler of the Isiala Umudi community, Nkwere Local Government Area Imo State southeastern Nigeria. The monarch, Jewel Ndenkwo, was kidnapped in Owerri around 7 pm on Friday. The armed men took him away in front of one of his companies, Udekings Electronics, in the area. The Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room has charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with violating some aspects of the Electoral Law of 2022.
