In a heartfelt message of condolence, Ambassador Dr. Osita Offior “De Ultimate Commander” (Ikenga Gburgburu), President of the United Abia Artistes and Patriots (UAAP) Forum, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Felix Awogu’s mother, Madam Nnedinobi Regina Awogu. The veteran sports broadcaster, Felix Awogu, and his family are currently mourning the loss of their matriarch, who peacefully passed away in her sleep on Tuesday morning at the age of 90.
Ambassador Offior, in his official message, extended his deepest sympathies to the Awogu family, describing the loss as a painful and irreplaceable one. “The passing of a mother is a profound loss for any family, and I stand with Felix and the entire Awogu family during this difficult time,” Offior said. “Madam Nnedinobi Regina Awogu was a woman whose life was a testament to grace, wisdom, and devotion to her family and community.”

Madam Awogu, a revered figure from Ada Oko Anala in Delta State, lived a life filled with love and service. Throughout her years, she nurtured and raised a family that would go on to carry her legacy of strength, dignity, and commitment to the betterment of those around her. Offior noted that her contributions to her family and community have left a lasting imprint, one that will be remembered by generations to come.
In his message, Felix Awogu, who also serves as the General Manager and Head of Outside Broadcast at SuperSport, described his mother as a pillar of wisdom and strength, whose guidance had a lasting impact on his life and career. “My mother’s life was dedicated to service, to nurturing others, and to giving selflessly,” Awogu said. “She leaves behind a legacy that will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.”
Ambassador Offior further extended his prayers and support to the Awogu family, emphasizing that, though the family is in mourning, the life of Madam Nnedinobi Regina Awogu should be celebrated for the countless lives she touched. “As the Awogu family plans the final rites, let us remember Madam Awogu not in sorrow, but in admiration for the incredible life she lived,” Offior said.
The Awogu family has announced that further details on the burial arrangements will be shared in due course. The final rites will not only mark a moment of mourning but will also be a time to celebrate the remarkable life of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who impacted so many.
As tributes continue to pour in from friends, colleagues, and well-wishers, Ambassador Offior and the UAAP Forum join the Awogu family in this period of grief, offering comfort and solidarity during this challenging time.
