It is all thanksgiving and prayer to God as Abians roll out drums to celebrate Bishop Dr Emeka Nwankpa, the governorship candidate of the Accord Party, as he marks his 52nd birthday today, June 12.

Through the outpouring of messages of goodwill and praises to God for the life of the Bishop, well-wishers from different walks of life have described him as a ‘true child of God’ due to his uncommon philanthropy and kindness.

The story of the revered cleric, who hails from Umukalu Ntigha of Isiala Ngwa North, could better be described as that of rags to riches. He rose to fame, wealth and prominence by dint of hard work, honesty and trust in God.

Through his Foundation – Bishop Emeka Nwankpa Foundation – Bishop Nwankpa has been touching lives in several positive ways. According to him, doing good to mankind is a covenant he has with God.

The Foundation has, since its establishment 18 years ago, touched the lives of tens of thousands of indigent widows, orphans, jobless youths, the aged, farmers and artisans through several life-changing interventions. He does all these without publicizing them.

In his words, ‘It is good to be a child of God. The promises of God never fail. I am a testimony to that. The story of my life will be told at the appropriate time. The Lord has been my strength. He never disappoints.’
