…Reaffirms Commitment To Effective Representation, Completion Of Projects Facilitated During 8th And 9th NASS
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, represented by the party’s candidate for Abia North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, has officially commenced his consultation tour across the senatorial district ahead of the 2027 general election, receiving royal blessings and goodwill from traditional rulers in Ohafia, Abiriba and Nkporo.



Rt. Hon. Nkole, immediate past member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, began the consultation as part of his wider engagement with traditional institutions, community leaders, religious leaders, women, youths, stakeholders and the people of Abia North.
The consultation tour underscores his commitment to seeking the support, prayers and guidance of the people as he prepares to offer himself for service at the Senate.
OHAFIA: Nkole Receives Royal Blessing
The former federal lawmaker commenced the day’s engagement in Ohafia with a visit to the Ohafia Traditional Rulers at Achichi Elu, Ohafia.
He was received by his team and other political stakeholders, including NDC State Chairman, Mr. Chidi Ukah; Hon. Chinedu Ijeoma; Mrs. Nkechi Ikenga, NDC Abia State Women’s Leader; and Mr. Ete Udoh, Ohafia LGA Party Chairman.
Addressing the traditional rulers, Rt. Hon. Nkole reaffirmed his commitment to providing effective and result-oriented representation if elected to represent Abia North in the Senate.
He recalled his contributions and achievements during his tenure in the House of Representatives, whose impact cut across the over 23 villages of Ohafia, assuring the people that he would bring the same commitment, experience and determination to the Senate.
He specifically pledged to pursue the completion of non-performing projects across the senatorial district, stressing that projects initiated for the benefit of the people should not be left to waste.
According to him, his vision for Abia North is anchored on attracting meaningful federal presence, promoting development and ensuring that the people enjoy tangible dividends of democracy.



The Udumeze of Ohafia Ancient Kingdom, His Royal Paramountcy Ezie Ohamaoha Elder Awa Orji Udonsi, and members of the Ohafia Traditional Rulers Council thanked Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole for identifying with the traditional institution and the people of Ohafia.
The traditional ruler subsequently offered the senatorial candidate a royal blessing as he embarked on the next phase of his consultation.
ABIRIBA: Traditional Rulers Receive Consultation With Royal Blessing
From Ohafia, Rt. Hon. Nkole proceeded to Abiriba, where he paid a consultation visit to the Abiriba Traditional Rulers.
The traditional institution warmly received the former federal lawmaker and listened to his message as he sought their prayers, support and goodwill ahead of the 2027 general election.
Rt. Hon. Nkole used the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the progress and development of Abia North, promising to make the interests of the people the driving force behind his representation.
He stressed the need for purposeful leadership that would attract development projects, strengthen federal presence and ensure that the people of Abia North receive their fair share of the dividends of democracy.
The Abiriba Traditional Rulers, including HRM/Bar Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu, Enachionken of Abiriba; HRH Eze Benjamin Agu Effa of Agboji; HRH Eze Eme Uguru Ikpoka, Ukpaghari Amogudu; and Eze Otisu Ukiwo Alaoke Ihungwu, welcomed his consultation and offered him their royal blessings as he continued his engagement across the senatorial district.
Afterwards, Hon. Nkole had an interaction with the Abiriba/Nkporo community and other stakeholders.
NKPORO: Nkole Receives Royal Blessing, Promises Renewed Representation
The final leg of the day’s consultation took Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole to Nkporo, where he visited the traditional rulers and other key stakeholders in the ancient kingdom.
The former member of the House of Representatives was received by the Ezeaja of Nkporo Ancient Kingdom, HRM Ezeaja Jeff Kalu Otisi, alongside the Nkporo Autonomous Communities Traditional Rulers Council.
The Council was led by its Chairman, HRH Eze Dr. Agwu Nwankwo Kalu (LUNA), Aloke I of Agbaja Autonomous Community, with its Secretary, HRH Eze Innoce Mba, Okwe III of Etitiama Autonomous Community.
Other members of the Nkporo Autonomous Communities Traditional Rulers Council present included HRH Eze Otuu Irukwu, Afo I of Amafor Autonomous Community; HRH Eze Arunsi Nwankwo Uka, Agboha I of Agboha Autonomous Community; HRH Eze Dr. O. U. Oji, Ugah II of Ndi Nko Autonomous Community; and HRH Eze John Isiah, Ewaluochie II of Ukwa Autonomous Community.
The traditional institution listened to Rt. Hon. Nkole as he presented his vision and aspiration to represent Abia North in the Senate.
Rt. Hon. Nkole reiterated that his aspiration is about service, development and effective representation, promising to work towards attracting impactful projects and programmes to the senatorial district.
He further emphasised his commitment to ensuring that abandoned or non-performing government projects are revisited and completed, noting that such projects represent public resources and were initiated to serve the people.
The Ezeaja of Nkporo Ancient Kingdom and his Council of Eze Ogo, alongside the Nkporo Autonomous Communities Traditional Rulers Council and the Nkporo & Abiriba Ministers and Church Leaders Conference, welcomed the senatorial candidate and offered him their royal and spiritual blessings ahead of the 2027 general election.
A NEW CHAPTER OF ENGAGEMENT
The consultation across Ohafia, Abiriba and Nkporo marks the beginning of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole’s broader engagement with communities and traditional institutions across Abia North.
The former federal lawmaker, who has continued to position himself as an experienced hand with a record of legislative service, is seeking the mandate of the people to represent Abia North at the Senate in 2027.
The consultation provided an opportunity for him to reconnect with traditional institutions and grassroots stakeholders while presenting his vision for a more developed, better represented and more prosperous Abia North.
With the royal and ecclesiastical blessings received across the three communities, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole continues his consultation tour, taking his message of experience, effective representation, development and renewed commitment to service to communities across Abia North.
