In a major boost to the Labour Party’s political momentum, Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, alongside the Labour Party presidential candidate, Dr. Chibuzo Okereke paid a high-profile courtesy visit to the palace of the Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom.
The high-powered delegation visited the paramount traditional ruler to pay homage, seek counsel, and receive royal blessings ahead of upcoming political engagements and constituency developments.
Receiving the delegation at his palace, His Eminence, Dr. Eberechukwu Oji – the Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom, expressed gratitude for the delegation’s respect for ancient traditional institutions. The monarch offered royal prayers for peace, wisdom, unity, and progress across Abia State and Nigeria at large, conferring traditional blessings upon both leaders.
Speaking during the audience, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa expressed profound gratitude to the monarch and the traditional council for the warm reception. He reiterated his unalloyed commitment to delivering quality representation in the National Assembly and ensuring that the voice of the Arochukwu/Ohafia constituency remains prominent at the national level.
The Labour Party presidential candidate also appreciated the monarch’s fatherly guidance, highlighting the crucial role traditional rulers play in safeguarding culture, ensuring community security, and fostering national stability.
The visit sparked widespread enthusiasm throughout Arochukwu and neighboring communities, with party the State Party Woman Leader Mrs. Elizabeth Udo Kalu, The State Publicity Secretary Iroegbu Emenike, The Abia Arise State Cordinator Mazi Nkem Okoro, The Arochukwu LGA LP Chairman Mazi O. Onuoha, other party faithfuls, community elders, and youth groups turning out in large numbers to show solidarity.
The event concluded with traditional rites, photo sessions, and interactive engagements with local stakeholders and community leaders before the delegation departed.
