The Honourable Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, on Tuesday participated in a high-level stakeholders’ meeting with leaders of the Labour Party, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Abuja. The gathering was centered around strengthening the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

The meeting focused on fostering unity within the party, rebuilding internal trust, and establishing functional structures from the ward level upward. These measures are crucial to ensuring better coordination and readiness for the upcoming electoral process.

In his remarks following the session, Hon. Osonwa emphasized the significance of credible membership registration, effective polling unit coordination, and the accurate documentation of election results. He noted that these steps are essential for safeguarding the people’s mandate.

Hon. Osonwa described the engagement as more than just a routine meeting, highlighting that it signifies a call for discipline, early preparation, and sustained grassroots mobilization. He underscored that the success of the 2027 elections will depend on collaboration among party leaders, labour institutions, and key stakeholders to build a stronger, more coordinated platform that genuinely represents the voice of Arochukwu/Ohafia and delivers accountable representation.

He further reaffirmed the necessity of initiating preparations for 2027 immediately, with a focus on grassroots structures and strategic organization.
