ADC Vanguards, a group of concerned and committed members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, has issued a strong caution to both the state and national leadership of the party regarding the recent entry of Chief Ikechi Emenike and his faction of aggrieved former APC members.
In a statement released to the press on Wednesday in Umuahia, the group expressed deep concern over what it described as a “recurring pattern of political instability” associated with Chief Emenike’s involvement in party affairs.

According to the group, his political history reflects a tendency to create division, weaken internal cohesion, and undermine party structures for personal advantage.
The Vanguards specifically referenced his time in the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging that his conduct contributed significantly to internal crises that plagued the party in Abia State. They noted that these actions ultimately led to a loss of influence and control within the party.
“While ADC remains open to welcoming new members, including those from other political platforms, such inclusiveness must not come at the expense of the party’s unity, stability, and long-term vision,” the statement read.
The group, therefore, urged party leaders at all levels to exercise vigilance and discretion in managing new entrants, particularly those with controversial political track records. They warned against conceding undue influence or strategic positions to individuals whose past actions suggest a propensity for discord.
ADC Vanguards reaffirmed their commitment to the growth and integrity of the party, emphasizing that the ADC must not repeat the mistakes of other political platforms by allowing internal instability to fester.
Hon Nkem Joseph, spokesperson of the group, stated:: “We call on our leaders to prioritise loyalty, discipline, and proven commitment in building a formidable and united party capable of delivering credible leadership to the people of Abia State, and to place Chief Ikechi Emenike and his group of displaced and aggrieved APC members on watchlist.”
