Today, we join the rest of Nigeria in commemorating our nation’s 65th Independence Day. This momentous occasion is a testament to our country’s resilience, progress, and unwavering commitment to greatness. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on the values that have shaped our nation and continue to guide us towards a brighter future.
Nigeria’s diversity is our greatest strength. With over 250 ethnic groups and more than 500 languages, our nation is a vibrant tapestry of cultures, traditions, and beliefs. As we celebrate our independence, we must recommit ourselves to embracing our differences and promoting unity in diversity. By doing so, we can harness our collective potential and build a nation that is truly greater than the sum of its parts.

As we mark 65 years of independence, we must acknowledge the progress we’ve made while also recognizing the challenges that lie ahead. Development is a collective responsibility that requires the active participation of all Nigerians. We must work together to address the infrastructural deficits, economic inequality, and social injustices that have hindered our nation’s growth.
Justice and democracy are the bedrock of any thriving society. As we celebrate our independence, we must reaffirm our commitment to upholding these values. This includes promoting transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, as well as protecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens.
To my fellow Nigerians, I urge you to join me in celebrating our nation’s 65th Independence Day with hope and renewal. Let us draw inspiration from our diversity, work together towards development and progress, and uphold the principles of justice and democracy. Together, we can build a brighter future for ourselves and for generations to come.
I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, for his transformational leadership and vision for our state. His commitment to progress and development has been exemplary, and we are proud to support his efforts.
As we celebrate our nation’s independence, let us remember the words of our national anthem: “O God of all creation
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed..” Today, we answer that call by recommitting ourselves to the values of unity, development, progress, justice, and democracy that have defined our nation’s journey. Happy 65th Independence Day, Nigeria!
