APC Chieftain, Chief Chidiebere J. Okoh, has responded to the member Representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Hon. Obi Aguocha over claims that Abia State did not flourish for 24 years which includes 8 years under Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu's governance from 1999 to 2007. Okoh vehemently disagrees, citing the numerous achievements of Kalu's administration. "During Senator Orji Uzor Kalu's tenure, Abia State witnessed unprecedented development," Okoh stated. In a surprising turn of events, Rep. Ginger Onwusibe, the leader of the Labour Party caucus in the House of Representatives, has come to the defense of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu's call for Governor Alex Otti to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). Onwusibe's defense comes in response to criticism from fellow Labour Party member, Rep. Obi Aguocha, who deemed Kalu's remarks as condescending and disrespectful to Governor Otti. Onwusibe argued that Kalu did nothing wrong by promoting his party and inviting Otti to join the APC. He emphasized that Kalu's intention was misinterpreted and that he was simply marketing…

In a bold move, Chief Chidiebere J. Okoh, a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has publicly defended Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu's recent call for Governor Alex Otti to join the APC. Okoh's stance is rooted in the fundamental right to political affiliation and the potential benefits for Abia State. Okoh assertively argued that Kalu, as a dedicated APC member, has the inherent right to canvass for his party, particularly given the APC's control of the central government. This, Okoh believes, positions Abia State to reap significant advantages from Kalu's tireless efforts. In response to…

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has issued a press release calling for the immediate release of two brothers, Obinna Okafor and Amarachi Okafor, allegedly abducted by the Nigerian Army and Ihiala Vigilantees in Anambra State. According to the release, the brothers were abducted for no reason other than being seen sitting in a restaurant, with one of them having just returned from Indonesia. IPOB accuses the Nigerian Army and Vigilantees of indiscriminately abducting innocent Igbo youths, particularly those returning from overseas, to intimidate and extort them. The group warns that any Vigilante member colluding with the Nigerian Army to…

Abia State, Amos Oge Kalu, NewsAbia State, Alex Otti, Benjamin Kalu, Chibuike Jonas, Politics

PRESS STATEMENT - 20/8)2024 It has come to my attention that Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu has been subjected to unwarranted criticism and abuse following a recent video where he is said to have called on Governor Alex Otti of Abia State to rejoin the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). As someone who has closely followed his leadership style and legislative achievements, I feel compelled to set the record straight in defence of his honor and integrity. Deputy Speaker Kalu's achievements speak for themselves. He has successfully sponsored the Southeast Development Commission Bill, a…
