APC chairman detained in Jigawa on charges of raping and impregnating a housegirl

The 56-year-old chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Roni Local Government Area, Saleh Idris, has been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly raping his housegirl. In a statement to OHAFIATV News, CSC Adamu Shehu, the NSCDC's Jigawa State Command spokesman, confirmed the arrest. According to him, the victim's brother filed a complaint alleging that the suspect had sexually assaulted and pregnant his sister, 14, who worked as a housekeeper at the suspect's home, and that's why the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday. The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, has been disqualified from running in the Bayelsa State election on November 11 by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
