World AIDS Day: 36,797 persons living with HIV in Niger

Niger State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Makusidi Muhammad, has revealed that at least 36,797 persons are presently living with HIV in the state. The commissioner stated this through the Director, of Medical Services and Training, Dr. Baba Uthman at a press briefing to mark this year’s World AIDS Day in Minna with the theme “Equalize to End AIDS: Equal Access to Treatment and Prevention Services.” According to him, between January and September this year, a total of 2,628 clients tested positive for HIV in the state. Native Doctor Guns Down Client While Testing Anti-Gun Charm

Enugu state police said they arrested a native doctor in Umuaram, Ikem, a community in the state’s Isi-Uzo local government area, for allegedly shooting dead his client in Eha-Amufu, another community in the council area. The suspect, 23-year-old Emmanuel Odoh, allegedly killed the victim, Onunze Benedict, at a shrine while testing a gunshot protection amulet that the native doctor had prepared for the victim. Gunmen kill Nigerian singer, Ifeanyi Onah (Slami)

Gunmen killed a Nigerian singer-songwriter in Umubele, a community in Awka, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State, southeast Nigeria. The incident occurred on Sunday morning. The victim, Ifeanyi Onah, also known as Slami, was said to be driving his newly purchased Lexus 330 SUV when he was attacked and killed by the gunmen. FCT budget jumps from N329 billion to N607.9 billion in less than 1year

The House of Representatives has passed the budget of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT for the 2022 fiscal year. The N607.9 billion budget was passed on Tuesday after consideration by the Committee on Supply. The new budget of the ministry shows that the budget of the FCT has increased from N329 billion in 2021 to N607.9 billion in 2022. The breakdown of the budget shows that N403.6 billion has been allocated for capital projects. This allocation is more than the entire N329 billion budget of 2021.
