Honorable Ibe Okwara, lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, joined the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, along with top government officials, religious leaders, and key stakeholders, for the state’s Solemn Assembly and Covenant Renewal Service held at the JAAC Building Auditorium, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia.
The high-profile spiritual gathering, themed “Remembering the Covenant,” served as a moment of rededication, collective prayer, and thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness, peace, and the visible progress experienced across Abia State under Governor Otti’s leadership.
The assembly marked the climax of a state-wide spiritual exercise, which included three days of fasting and prayer observed across homes, communities, and religious institutions.
Speaking at the event, Governor Alex Otti emphasized the importance of grounded faith, good governance, and staying committed to the foundational covenant made with the people of Abia.
He reiterated his administration’s focus on ethical leadership, infrastructure development, institutional reform, and economic revival, attributing the state’s stabilization to divine guidance and the unflinching support of the citizens.
Rev. Dr. Sam Oye, Appostle Ofodire along side other Prominent Christian ministers led the gathering in intercessory prayers for wisdom, security, continuous economic expansion, and peaceful governance as the state looks toward the future.
Hon. Ibe Okwara’s presence at the assembly highlighted the unified alignment between the federal and state leadership in building a progressive, faith-anchored, and prosperous Abia.
The week-long covenant renewal exercise will conclude with state-wide thanksgiving services across Seventh-day Adventist churches and other Christian denominations throughout the state.
