The NdIgbo for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT) has congratulated Engr. Osborn Nweze Umahi and 12 other newly elected Local Government Chairmen following the August 22, 2026 council elections in Ebonyi State.
The Forum also commended Governor Francis Nwifuru for what it described as the successful conduct of the elections, which resulted in All Progressives Congress (APC) victories across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas.
In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, and Secretary General, Dr. Ugwuoke Ugwuoke Jr., NDI-ABAT said the outcome reflected political stability and the confidence of Ebonyi people in progressive leadership.
The Forum singled out Umahi, the newly elected Chairman of Ohaozara Local Government Area, for special commendation, while also congratulating the other 12 Council Chairmen.
NDI-ABAT called on the new council bosses to move quickly from electoral victory to governance by delivering projects that directly impact residents at the grassroots.
It urged them to prioritise transparency, improved public services, community development and inclusive governance, stressing that the success of the new administration at the local government level should be measured by its impact on ordinary citizens.
The Forum also linked the new council administrations to the broader political activities ahead of the 2027 presidential election, urging the elected leaders to support policies and programmes of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration which it said were targeted at national growth, economic transformation and infrastructure renewal.
NDI-ABAT further expressed confidence that voters would increasingly judge political leaders by their records and achievements as the 2027 elections approach, rather than by political propaganda.
The group urged Umahi and the other newly elected Chairmen to use their mandates to strengthen unity and accelerate grassroots development across Ebonyi State.
NDI-ABAT reaffirmed its commitment to democratic participation and what it described as constructive political engagement towards building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
