Court Orders Forfeiture of Over N1bn Linked to Ebonyi SSG

A Federal High Court in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, has ordered the interim forfeiture of over N1 billion linked to Professor Grace Umezurike, Secretary to the Ebonyi State Government (SSG), and her aide. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had filed an ex parte application leading to the court's decision. The funds were allegedly diverted from the Ebonyi State Government's treasury into six accounts with United Bank for Africa (UBA).
