As the day draws nearer to the November 20 judgement on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, tensions and uncertainty have begun to rise, particularly among young people across the southeast region. The atmosphere of apprehension is palpable, with many anxiously watching to see how the court’s decision will shape the political and social landscape.
Against this backdrop, Man O’ War, an agency operating under the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre and dedicated to leadership development, citizenship training, and community order, has appealed for calm. The organisation has expressed deep concern over the heightened anxiety and has urged youths across the Southeast to remain law-abiding, peaceful, and responsible before, during, and after the judgement, irrespective of the outcome.

In a statement issued by the Abia State Commander of Man O’ War, Rev. Simon Onwubiko, the organisation reminded young people that violence is “an ill wind that blows no one any good.” Rev. Onwubiko noted that the region has suffered enough from instability, and cautioned the youth against any actions that could escalate tension or endanger lives and property.
He emphasised that peace remains the strongest weapon for societal advancement and called on youths to shun destructive tendencies. According to him, the strength of the Southeast lies not in violence or unrest, but in unity, discipline, and constructive engagement.
Rev. Onwubiko further appealed to community leaders, parents, and influencers to join in counselling young people towards patience and peaceful conduct during this sensitive period. He stressed that calm remains the most honourable path, regardless of expectations or emotions.
Man O’ War Abia reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible citizenship, leadership values, and community stability. The organisation urged the youths to focus on positive actions that build society rather than those that tear it down.
As the region awaits the November 20 verdict, Man O’ War’s message is clear: Choose peace. Choose patience. Choose the path that secures the future of the Southeast.
