A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has issued a warning to activist politician Omoyele Sowore regarding his demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Igbokwe cautioned Sowore to distance himself from Kanu, whom he described as a butcher responsible for many deaths in the Southeast. In a Facebook post titled “Final Warning to Omoyele Sowore,” Igbokwe stated that Kanu’s supporters have transformed the Southeast into a violent region.

He wrote, “Omoyele Sowore says he is marching to Aso Rock to protest against the detention of the ‘Butcher of the Southeast’ known as Nnamdi Kanu. I have advised him as a friend to run away from this situation. I have also informed his younger brother, Barr Allen Sowore, to warn him to avoid involvement in Nnamdi Kanu’s issues because this matter is more significant than he realizes.

“I have tried to guide him as a friend, but he refuses to listen. Nnamdi Kanu has caused the deaths of thousands in the Southeast over the past ten years. His followers have turned the region into a killing field, a place where life is perilous and unpredictable, reminiscent of Thomas Hobbes’ ‘State of Nature.’ Kanu has devastated the Southeast.

“This individual is senseless and lacks understanding, wisdom, and character. His actions have been a disastrous enterprise that has set back the Igbo nation by fifty years. We have lost respect, honor, integrity, dignity, common sense, and wisdom as a result. I cannot explain how this has happened to our people.

“We remained silent while foolish individuals wreaked havoc in the land of the rising sun. We allowed ourselves to be led astray, and now, under the influence of the empty-headed Nnamdi Kanu, the Igbo nation is in a dire situation that will take years to resolve.

“Sowore, Sowore, Sowore—how many times must I call you? Three times, right? Run away from the issues in the Southeast. You know nothing about what Nnamdi Kanu has done in the region over the last decade under the guise of a misguided and futile Biafra project. Blood has been shed. I am a victim myself. Visit Nnewi and see my home for yourself. Speak with the people before you engage in this reckless mission. Conduct your own research in the Southeast before you make your voice heard. This path will lead you nowhere. I have done my duty.

“If you are from the Southwest, South-South, North-Central, Northeast, or Northwest, ignore Kanu and the reckless interloper called Sowore. This ‘Aluta continua’ adventure is no longer relevant; it is childish and senseless.”
