Navy intercepts two individuals with 3,500 litres of petrol en route Cameroon

The Nigerian Navy, Forward Operating Base (FOB) Ibaka, has reported the arrest of two suspected oil thieves who were found carrying 3,500 litres of petrol in a wooden boat en route to Cameroon. The Commanding Officer, Capt. Uche Aneke, disclosed this while handing over the suspects and items to the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ibaka on Tuesday. According to Aneke, the suspects were apprehended along the waterways at about 11:15 am on May 18. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recently disclosed a list of 58 former governors who are suspected to have been involved in corrupt activities, such as embezzlement, misappropriation, or laundering, over a period of 25 years. The total amount of money involved is approximately N2.187 trillion, not including properties seized worldwide or those currently under investigation, which amount to billions of Naira. The amount of N2.2 trillion that was stolen is equivalent to the combined budgets of Lagos State and the South-East states for 2024, which total N2.25 trillion and N2.29 trillion, respectively. Police Officer Arrested in Platueu for cutting off wife’s hand over N3,000

The Plateau State Command has arrested one of its officers who allegedly cut off his pregnant wife’s hand over her refusal to give him N3,000. The Police Inspector whose name is yet to be ascertained was said to have had a minor disagreement with his wife over N20,000.
