Comedian, Basketmouth questions EFCC boss over corrupt politicians who walk freely

Famous Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, popularly known by his stage name as Basketmouth, has questioned the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa over the low chance of conviction for politically exposed persons in the country. This is following the two recent protests by the youths in Warri area of Delta State and that of Ibadan over unwarranted arrest and extortion by the anti-graft agency without any links to cybercrime. Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed that the popular Instagram celebrity, Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, is currently in their custody. Reports emerged at the weekend that the commission arrested Pascal at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the nation’s capital while he was traveling to Owerri, the Imo State capital. Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, has declared that Gimba Yau Kumo, the fugitive former Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) over an alleged $65m fraud is no longer his son-in-law.
