Comedian, Basketmouth questions EFCC boss over corrupt politicians who walk freely

Famous Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha, popularly known by his stage name as Basketmouth, has questioned the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa over the low chance of conviction for politically exposed persons in the country. This is following the two recent protests by the youths in Warri area of Delta State and that of Ibadan over unwarranted arrest and extortion by the anti-graft agency without any links to cybercrime. EFCC confirms arrest of Cubana Chief Priest

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has confirmed that the popular Instagram celebrity, Pascal Okechukwu popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, is currently in their custody. Reports emerged at the weekend that the commission arrested Pascal at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the nation’s capital while he was traveling to Owerri, the Imo State capital. Pascal, who is currently being quizzed by the anti-graft agency, was arrested over alleged tax fraud and money laundering. Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, has said that the State Government has facts to disprove the allegation of the bailout funds by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). But when the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu arrives court,, he personally confronted DSS officials and inquires the reasons for refusal of some members of his legal team access into the courtroom. it almost resulted serious argument but for the quick intervention of some court officials around. Buhari disowns son-in-law wanted for $65m fraud

Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari, has declared that Gimba Yau Kumo, the fugitive former Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) wanted by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) over an alleged $65m fraud is no longer his son-in-law. The ICPC has since began a manhunt for Kumo over alleged fraud, committed with two others, while he was managing FMBN.
