Court jails Kwara poly student over $9,891 fraud

A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Friday sentenced a 31-year-old student of the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Bashiru Azeez, to six months imprisonment over $9,891 fraud. Justice Adebayo Yusuf handed down the sentence while ruling on a fraud case instituted by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Bashiru who is from Oyan in the Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State is a student in the Marketing Department of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. The accused person was charged with one count offense of defrauding a client of $9,891 by the anti-graft agency.…

Tompolo’s security operatives discover more illegal pipelines in Delta

Federal Government’s privately contracted oil pipeline surveillance team, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, led by Government Ekpemupolo popularly known as Tompolo, has reportedly discovered more massive illegal crude oil pipelines attached to Trans Forcados Export Trunkline. The latest discoveries, sources said, were coming days after operatives of Tantita Security Services uncovered an illegal 4-kilometre pipeline connected from the Trans Escravos line into the sea. Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 39-year-old man, Mfon Jeremiah, for allegedly impregnating his 13-year-old daughter (name withheld). Jeremiah, a resident of FIRRO Estate off Adesan, Mowe in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, was arrested after his wife reported him to the police.
