75,436 inmates in prisons, 52,446 awaiting trial – Nigerian Correctional Service

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has disclosed that thousands of inmates in prisons across the country are without trial. Assistant Controller-General, Gimba Dumbulwa made the revelation on Wednesday in Abuja at a conference on decongestion and corrections administration. The official noted that as of May 9, 75,436 inmates are in correctional centres, while 52,446 are awaiting trial inmates. FRSC recovered 385 stolen vehicles in 10 years — Official

The Federal Road Safety Corps says it has recovered over 385 stolen vehicles since the introduction of the National Vehicle Identification Scheme. Unknown gunmen causing mayhem in Benue State have killed a Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr. Nathaniel Ochoche.
