Sokoto Assembly approves establishment of Community Guards.
The proposal by Governor Ahmed Aliyu to create a Community Guards Corps in the state was accepted by the Sokoto State House of Assembly on Wednesday. This came about as a result of a report that was reviewed by the joint House Committees on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Special Services and Security Matters. Alhaji Nasiru Adamu (PDP-Goronyo), the chairman of the committee, stated that the executive bill was carefully examined and that 28 recommendations were made as a result.
