The Media Office of Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial candidate for Abia North in 2027, has disassociated the campaign organisation from an online mock election hosted by Choice.ng, citing concerns over its credibility, transparency and alleged irregularities.
In a statement issued late Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the campaign office acknowledged that Nkole was leading in the Abia North segment of the poll but said it would no longer participate in the exercise.

The office questioned the organisers’ identity and the absence of verifiable physical contact details, an active email address and a functional telephone number through which complaints arising from the exercise could be lodged.
According to the statement, these concerns, alongside what it described as other instances of unprofessional conduct, informed the campaign organisation’s decision to withdraw from the platform.
The campaign office also challenged the duration of the poll, arguing that the exercise had continued beyond the 24-hour period it considered permissible. It cited Sections 47(2) and 60 of the Electoral Act, 2026, as amended, in making its case for compliance with electoral rules and procedures.
The office maintained that the poll should have closed at 4pm on October 27 and urged members of the public to disregard results published after that time, insisting that such figures should not be regarded as the official outcome of the exercise.
It further called on relevant government regulators and law enforcement agencies to examine the matter and take appropriate action where necessary.
Despite its withdrawal from the platform, the Nkole campaign office maintained that the candidate had secured a decisive lead within the period it regarded as the authorised voting window and beyond the legitimate time too.
The statement stressed that the campaign remained committed to due process, integrity and credible electoral practices, arguing that the popularity of a candidate should not override the need for a transparent and properly conducted exercise.
The statement was signed by the Media Office of the Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole Abia North Campaign Organisation at 10:04pm on October 27, 2026.
