The road to 2027 continued on Sunday as the NDC candidate for Abia North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, intensified consultations across Bende, Ihechiowa and Ohafia, meeting political coordinators, community stakeholders and grassroots support groups.
At Ozu Abam, Nkole met with Hon. Emeka Philips, the NDC candidate for Bende South State Constituency and Director-General of the Peter Obi Senatorial Campaign Council in Bende LGA.
The meeting brought together ward and LGA coordinators, including Hon. Emeka Okafor and Mr. Kalu Oku, Director-General of Etugo Divine Mandate and Chairman of NDC, Isuikwuato LGA.
Nkole also received a courtesy visit from Ms. Uju Jany Lily, a former political mentee from his days in the PDP before she moved to the APC. Ms. Lily, who still holds Hon. Nkole in high esteem, came to share the joy of a car gift presented to her by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu. Hon. Nkole thanked Rt. Hon. Kalu for the kind gesture and commended Uju for maintaining positive energy and giving good testimony about his mentorship.
From Ozu Abam, the train moved to Umuzomgbo, Ihechiowa, where Nkole met with coordinators representing the 17 villages of Ihechiowa Clan. He also paid a courtesy visit to High Chief Offor Okorie at his country home in Umuzomgbo.
In Ohafia, Nkole met with women pro-groups of Ania Ohafia at Abia Ohafia, before proceeding to Amaekpu, where he held another interactive session with the Unique Sisters.
According to records of the day’s engagements, the various groups pledged their support for Mr. Peter Obi and Rt. Hon. Uko Nkole, citing their track records of success in previous public offices.
The Sunday engagements underscore Nkole’s resolve to take the 2027 message beyond political meetings and directly into communities, wards and grassroots structures across Abia North.
The Peter Obi presidential project remains central to the wider NDC campaign, as Nkole and the party are convinced that a new Nigeria is possible.
