Residents of Umunneochi Local Government Area are set to welcome the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, who will embark on an official visit to the council area on Friday, July 24, 2026.

The visit is expected to further strengthen the Governor’s engagement with the grassroots as his administration continues to drive its development agenda across the state. It will also provide an opportunity for the people of Umunneochi to interact with the Governor and reaffirm their support for his administration.

According to a statement issued by the Executive Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Hon. Sunny Afurobi, the event will take place at Peace Secondary School, Amuda Isuochi, beginning at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

The council chairman called on residents and stakeholders across the local government to turn out en masse to accord Governor Otti a warm and befitting reception.

Groups expected to be in attendance include traditional rulers, community leaders, town union executives, women leaders, youths, students, artisans, religious leaders, Labour Party members and supporters, Abia Arise members, market associations, civil servants, as well as sons and daughters of Umunneochi both at home and in the diaspora who are available.

Afurobi urged residents to use the occasion to demonstrate the unity, hospitality and appreciation of the people of Umunneochi for what he described as the Governor’s responsive and transformational leadership.

He expressed confidence that the visit would mark another significant milestone in the relationship between the Abia State Government and the people of Umunneochi, while calling on everyone to make the event memorable through a peaceful and massive turnout.
