The Labour Party’s official campaign flag-off at Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday, November 1, 2026, witnessed an impressive show of political strength as Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa (Oke Abba Ohafia), Labour Party flag bearer for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, mobilised a massive crowd of enthusiastic supporters to demonstrate his growing political capacity and grassroots acceptance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The supporters of Ibe Okwara Osonwa made a remarkable statement at the event, filling significant sections of the stadium in a colourful display of solidarity, loyalty and confidence in his aspiration to represent Arochukwu/Ohafia at the Federal House of Representatives.
A major highlight of the occasion was the formal presentation of the Labour Party flag to Hon. Osonwa by the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. The symbolic presentation signified the party’s confidence in his candidacy and its commitment to securing victory in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in 2027.
The gesture further reinforced his position as the Labour Party’s standard-bearer for the federal constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon. Osonwa expressed appreciation to Governor Otti for his leadership and confidence in his candidacy. He reaffirmed his commitment to effective, accessible and people-oriented representation, promising to prioritise constituency development, youth empowerment, improved infrastructure and purposeful legislative engagement.
He also commended his supporters for their impressive mobilisation, describing their presence as a demonstration of collective belief in a new era of responsive representation for Arochukwu and Ohafia.
