Vision for Good Governance, led by Hon. Iroha Ndukwe, popularly known as Ezie Ikori, has paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member representing the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, and endorsed him for a second tenure in office.

The visit provided an opportunity for the group to engage the lawmaker on issues concerning good governance, effective constituency representation, youth empowerment, employment opportunities and the welfare of the people of Arochukwu and Ohafia.

During the interactive session, members of the group sought to know Hon. Ibe Okwara’s major priorities for the remainder of his current tenure, as well as his legislative activities and constituency interventions since assuming office.

The delegation also sought clarification on efforts to assist graduates and unemployed youths in accessing Federal Government employment opportunities, skills acquisition programmes, entrepreneurship initiatives and other empowerment schemes.

Questions were further raised on bills sponsored or supported by Hon. Ibe Okwara, particularly legislative initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of his constituents and promoting development across the federal constituency.

The group also expressed concerns over the current economic hardship in the country, including the rising cost of living, and sought the lawmaker’s views on legislative measures being pursued to address the challenges facing Nigerians.

Responding to the issues raised, Hon. Ibe Okwara explained his legislative responsibilities and highlighted some of the interventions and initiatives undertaken to attract development, opportunities and government programmes to the constituency.

He also explained the workings of the National Assembly and the processes involved in accessing Federal Government programmes and interventions.

The Honourable Member emphasised the importance of continuous engagement between elected representatives and the people, noting that constructive dialogue provides an avenue for feedback, accountability and improved representation.

At the end of the engagement, Vision for Good Governance formally endorsed Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa for a second tenure, reaffirming its confidence in his representation and describing his leadership, legislative activities and constituency interventions as reasons for its support.

The group’s endorsement positioned Hon. Ibe Okwara as its preferred candidate for the forthcoming election, while the engagement further underscored the importance of dialogue between elected representatives and stakeholders.

The visit ended on a positive note, with both parties reaffirming the importance of transparency, accountability and sustained engagement in promoting good governance and effective representation within the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
