Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) leaders and stakeholders from Abia North Senatorial Zone converged on the country home of the party’s 2027 Abia North Senatorial candidate, Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, in Ozu Abam, for a meeting on the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
The meeting was convened by the NDC Zonal Chairman, Okoro Okeke, and State Publicity Secretary, Rtn. Louis Okoro, with candidates, campaign officials, party officers and community stakeholders from across the zone in attendance.



Among those present were Elder Ndubuisi Etugo Ogah, NDC Abia Governorship Candidate; Engr. Bright M. Alaribe, Deputy Governorship Candidate; Rt. Hon. Uko Ndukwe Nkole, Abia North Senatorial Candidate; Ifeanyi Ognonna, Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency Candidate; Hon. Eze Chikamnayo, Umunneochi State Assembly Candidate; Chinedu O. Ijoma, Arochukwu State Assembly Candidate; Comrade Obrian Iro, Ohafia North State Assembly Candidate; and Emeka Philip, Bende South State Assembly Candidate.
Also at the meeting were Ugoeze Nkechi Ikenga, NDC State Women’s Leader; Hon. Emeka Okafor, DG, Abia Gubernatorial Council; Dr. Kachi Iheme, DG, Abia North Presidential and Senatorial Council; and Rt. Hon. Chibuzor Okogbue, DDG, Presidential Campaign Council, Abia North.
Others included Engr. Uchenna Okagbue, NDC Leader in Bende; Amaechi Chukwu; Chief Aliadumpali C. Dickson; SWC and SEC officers; LGA chairmen and key officers from Isiukwuato, Ohafia, Bende and Umunneochi, alongside party chairmen from across Abia North.
Community and traditional stakeholders at the Ozu Abam meeting included Mazi Okwuobasi Kanu, Chief Odo Ijere, Chief Uduma Nnoke, Chief Mbieri Ottah, Chief Ibe Olugu, Lady Charity Achinivu – Adaukwu Aro, and other stakeholders.
The meeting focused on grassroots coordination, party structures and the work ahead of the 2027 elections across Abia North.
It also brought the Peter Obi presidential project into the discussion, with the Abia North structure looking ahead to the mobilisation required at ward and LGA levels.
The Ozu Abam gathering brought together voices from Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Umunneochi and Isiukwuato, giving the NDC’s Abia North campaign structure a local platform to discuss the road to 2027.
