The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially stated that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will continue for a period of one year, with the process set to conclude on August 30, 2026.

This information was shared through a statement released on Monday, which was signed by Sam Olumekun, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee.
The announcement comes after INEC began in-person registration at its offices throughout the country. The commission noted that the physical registration phase commenced on Monday, following the earlier launch of the online pre-registration portal on August 18, 2025.
