In a decisive move, Professor Mahmood Yakubu has officially handed over leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to May Agbamuche, who will serve as the Acting National Chairman.

Agbamuche, recognized as the longest-serving National Commissioner within the commission, assumes this vital role following Yakubu’s clear directive issued during a meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja.

Yakubu has urged all commissioners and directors to provide their unwavering support to Agbamuche as she effectively leads the commission until a permanent chairman is appointed.
