.Vows, as Reps Clash Over Poor Budget Implementation
Member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has declared that the people of his constituency will not be denied the dividends of democracy despite the widespread delays in the release of appropriated funds by the Federal Government.

His position comes on the heels of a heated session in the House of Representatives, where lawmakers strongly condemned the poor implementation of the national budget, the failure to cash-back approved constituency projects, and the non-payment of contractors for completed government projects across the country.
Speaking on the matter, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa aligned himself with the position of his colleagues, insisting that budgets passed by the National Assembly must be fully funded, cash-backed, and implemented in the interest of Nigerians.
While acknowledging that the funding challenges are affecting lawmakers nationwide, the federal lawmaker maintained that he has refused to allow bureaucratic delays in Abuja to halt development in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
He pointed to the recent return of contractors to the Ihenta–Ohafia Road project following his intervention, describing it as evidence that determined leadership can overcome difficult circumstances.
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa also highlighted his landmark constituency empowerment programme, which distributed vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, vocational equipment, business tools and other economic support materials to beneficiaries across every ward of the constituency, one of the largest empowerment initiatives ever undertaken in Arochukwu/Ohafia.
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa further announced that from July 14 to July 16, his office will commence a Free Medical and Surgical Outreach, bringing specialist doctors, free consultations, surgeries, laboratory services, medications, eye care and other critical healthcare interventions to six medical stations and two hospitals across Arochukwu and Ohafia, at absolutely no cost to beneficiaries.
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa noted that effective representation goes beyond speeches and debates, adding that true leadership is demonstrated through tangible projects and life-changing interventions.
“The funding challenges are real and national. But leadership is not about explaining why things cannot be done. It is about finding a way regardless. We will keep pressing in Abuja, and we will keep delivering at home.”
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining quality representation, accelerating development, and ensuring that the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia continue to benefit from responsive and people-centred leadership, despite the prevailing national fiscal challenges.
