By Biodun Busari A man shot dead his 35-year-old girlfriend, Nicole Hughes, and her 18-month-old daughter, Ariella Bell before he killed himself on the bank of the Merrimack River, New Hampshire, in the United States on Saturday. Court stops NLC, TUC from embarking on strike over Fuel Subsidy Removal

The National Industrial Court, NIC, sitting in Abuja, on Monday, restrained the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, from embarking on their planned strike to protest the unilateral removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government. Anambra State government has unveiled electronic identity cards for civil servants and other government employees to curb impersonation, ghost workers, and other ills in the system. Fuel subsidy: NLC declares nationwide strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, on Friday, declared a nationwide strike from Wednesday next week. The union disclosed this during its National Executive Council, NEC, meeting held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. According to Channels TV, the meeting was not unconnected to the fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu and the subsequent hike in the pump price of petrol. The NEC comprises all Presidents, General Secretaries, Treasurers of all NLC’s affiliate unions; State Chairpersons and Secretaries of the NLC State Councils, Chairperson of the NLC Youth Committee and members of the National Administrative Council (NAC).
