Election Tribunal: INEC tells Court to dismiss Obi, LP’s prayers in the suit.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has told the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC to dismiss a suit filed by Peter Obi of the Labour Party because the reliefs sought are not grantable. Nigeria’s electoral body, INEC, disclosed this on Monday at the PEPC’s Secretariat by its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud, SAN, in Abuja. Governor Wike who addressed journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday claimed that the former lawmaker cannot be Governor of Kogi State. JAMB fixes new date for 2023 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a new date for the commencement of the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations. The board disclosed this in a statement signed by its Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja on Sunday. Benjamin said the UTME which was earlier scheduled to commence on April 29, would now start on April 25, 2023. Owo Catholic Church reopens 10 months after attack (see pictures)

Ten months after Francis Catholic Church located in Owo, Ondo State, was attacked by gunmen, the Church on Sunday, April 9, reopen for religious activities. The PUNCH reports that on June 5, 2022, gunmen attacked the church and killed some of the worshippers while others were left injured. The governor of the state, Rotimi Akeredolu, had visited the scene to commiserate with the church and the entire town.
