……Friendship, Music, and Legacy: Bob Em and Prince Emeka Rekindle Childhood, Evening of Warmth and Elegance

RATTAWU Lagos State Council Bulletin 059–2025 | December 5th 2025
In a spectacular display of friendship, artistry, and decades-long brotherhood, Super Star Bob Em, the globally celebrated musical icon, played host to the Magic Fingers Presidential Team led by the Global President of RATTAWU, Comrade Prince (Amb.) Emeka Kalu, at his serene Ajao Estate residence by the Lagos Airport.
The visit, rich in emotion and elegance, showcased not only the hospitality of Bob Em but also the profound bond between two men whose journeys began far before fame, influence, and global recognition found them.

Guests were welcomed into an ambience alive with warmth. While refreshments flowed and entertainment unfolded, Bob Em, renowned for his stage mastery and magnetic artistic aura, treated the delegation to a mild yet soul-lifting musical performance, a spontaneous moment that reminded all present why he remains one of the most respected voices in the global music landscape.
The Presidential delegation, include, RATTAWU General Secretary, Comrade Akpausoh Udoh Akpausoh, brought an air of dignity and camaraderie to the occasion. He was joined by the National Treasurer, Muhammad Ahmed Naibi, whose presence highlighted the national importance of the visit. Also in attendance were Comrade Ishola Adejumo, Chairman of the RATTAWU Lagos State Council, alongside Comrade Agada Augustine and Comrade Emma Oparugo from NTA ETV. Together, the team formed a formidable and respected assembly, adding colour and prestige to the warm reception hosted by the global music icon, Bob Em.
A philanthropist at heart, Bob Em elevated the atmosphere further with a lavish and sumptuous dinner, served personally to President Emeka Kalu and his team—a gesture reflecting his humility and uncommon hospitality.
Their connection, however, runs deeper than artistry and leadership. Their friendship stretches nearly five decades, dating back to their days as boys in primary school. As scholars often remark, “The friendships formed in childhood are life’s earliest architecture, quiet foundations that can outlast distance, time, and even destiny itself.”
This profound truth was evident throughout the visit. In a reflective moment, President Emeka Kalu recalled a touching encounter from years past, when Bob Em visited his mother. Bob Em’s heartfelt words, “She is not your mother; she is our mother,” echoed through the gathering with renewed meaning, capturing the brotherhood that has shaped their lives.
The evening also shimmered with warmth from Bob Em’s family. His wife and son were active pillars of hospitality, showering the visiting team with affection and genuine appreciation. Their collective kindness further demonstrated why the musical icon is admired not only for his artistic genius but also for his down-to-earth personality and exceptional humility.
As laughter, memories, and gratitude intertwined, one truth stood out: these two global figures, one commanding the world of music and the other steering a powerful international union remain bonded by loyalty, history, and mutual respect.
In an era where friendships are fleeting, Bob Em and Prince Emeka Kalu continue to embody the power, purity, and permanence of relationships built in innocence, nurtured over time, and strengthened by shared purpose.
