Ike Nwachukwu At 86: Bourdex Salutes Abia Icon, Celebrates His Service To Nigeria

The Labour Party senatorial candidate for Abia North, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, MFR, OON, has felicitated with elder statesman and distinguished Abia son, General Ike Omar Sanda Nwachukwu, CFR, on the occasion of his 86th birthday.

Bourdex, in a birthday message, joined Nigerians, particularly the people of Abia State, in celebrating General Nwachukwu, whom he described as an illustrious son of the state whose life has been defined by service, discipline, courage and statesmanship.

The Abia North senatorial candidate said General Nwachukwu belongs to a distinguished generation of Nigerians whose contributions to public service have left enduring footprints in the history of the country.

According to Bourdex, the occasion goes beyond celebrating the longevity of the former military officer and public servant, as it also provides an opportunity to recognise the experience, wisdom and contributions he has accumulated over decades of service.

Bourdex noted that General Nwachukwu’s distinguished career has taken him through the military, public administration and elective politics, describing the elder statesman as a source of inspiration to younger generations.

He said the former governor, minister and senator has continued to represent a generation of Nigerians whose commitment to public service has contributed to the development of the nation.

“At 86, we celebrate much more than longevity. We celebrate a living repository of history, experience and wisdom—an elder statesman whose accomplishments continue to inspire generations coming behind him,” Bourdex stated.

He further acknowledged General Nwachukwu’s enduring place in the political and national history of Nigeria, noting that his public service journey remains worthy of recognition and appreciation.

Bourdex, on behalf of his family, Team Bourdex and his supporters across Abia North and beyond, expressed appreciation to General Nwachukwu for his contributions to the state and country.

He described the celebrant as “a General, a Statesman and a Proud Son of Abia,” stressing the importance of honouring accomplished elder statesmen whose lives have contributed to the growth of society.

The Labour Party candidate also prayed for continued divine protection, good health and fulfilment for the former military general.

He wished General Nwachukwu many more years surrounded by the love, respect and honour of Nigerians and the people of Abia State.

Bourdex concluded his message by extending his warm birthday greetings to the elder statesman and expressing his best wishes for the years ahead.

“Happy 86th Birthday, General Ike Nwachukwu, CFR,” he said.
