The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer Nigeria Film corporation, NFC, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, has announced the latest developments in his spirited effort at ensuring the completion of the boards’ regional office located in Asaga Ohafia in record time. He made this revelation in a short video message of the borehole drilling process shared on Ohafia Whatsapp platforms.

To give background to the importance of this rare feat, Asaga Ohafia is located on a hilly topography with rocky sediment that has made drilling water in the community a challenge for a while now. During the older days before some boreholes succeeded to exist, water scarcity was one of the greatest torn on the flesh of the people, especially during dry seasons. Therefore if the struck water hits the right depth and reticulated to supply the community, then NFC would’ve used one stone to kill two birds, another feather on the cap of “Ishinka Ohafia”, Dr Chidia Maduekwe.

OHAFIATV News recalls that The Nigerian Film corporation had on Sunday 2nd January, 2022, performed a ground breaking ceremony for it’s school of cinematography in Asaga Ohafia, in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State and Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, who attracted the project, said it was sited in Ohafia because of its rich historical story telling culture.

He revealed that the audiovisual centre was designed to provide innovative skills and training in trades like sewing, shoe and bag making, hair dressing and information technology.

The project when completed is expected to serve as an audiovisual resources development centre, film entrepreneurial digital hub and a film village.

With the latest achievement of portable water in the center, it will be a dream come true for the unrelenting statesman for Asaga and entire Ohafia as a whole.
