The struggle for the House of Representatives turf of Ikwuano and Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency between the incumbent, Honorable Obi Aguocha, and Mr Chinedum Orji, the former Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, took to new optics with a pseudo media attack dog so called Tony Icheku being sponsored by Chinedum Orji to orchestrate a proxy media war.

The former Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, apart from his atrocious alliance with the said Tony Icheku is also known to have deployed more hatchet writers and pseudo media attack dogs as a war chest to brazenly wrest the coveted Seat of the House of Representatives of Ikwuano and Umuahia which he lost to Aguocha in the 2023 general election and for which he’s still nursing his wound.

What seemingly started this odious fight was Honorable Obi Aguocha’s well orchestrated media outreach to members of his constituents and Abians on his scorecard in the National Assembly But his political enemies led by Chinedum Orji would not have any of such and thus embarked on a negative press by quickly branding his interview in the context of “bragging.” If reeling out someone’s legislative achievement is now bragging, then Chinedum Orji and his cohorts should gird their loins for more bragging from the outstanding legislative bold steps of Hon Obi Aguocha

First and foremost, we want to make it abundantly clear to these media hounds that Obi Aguocha is among the first eleven of the wise men that advises the high performing Alex Otti team in the state. After all, birds of the same feather we are told flock together. Honorable Obi Aguocha’s gentle and effective legislative strides at the National Assembly draw a lot of inspiration from the synergy he developed with Dr. Alex Otti and his wonder team in the state. Aguocha, in this context, is clothed with the badge of honor of high performance index and thus is protected against the sinister plots by the likes of Chinedum Orji and his rented media clowns.Thus, the cloned Icheku, prancing under his pseudo writ, was quick to dismiss Aguocha’s 26 bills and 12 motions as deadpan simply because none has been assented to and signed into law by the President. Signing bills into law remains the prerogative of Mr. President at all times.

This is preposterous and sounds like the weaponization of legislative agenda against opposition entities. Especially against the backdrop of the fact that the same Aguocha is ranked second best only to the Deputy Speaker, Chief Benjamin Kalu, in the Southeast caucus of the National Assembly. Aguocha’s involvement in the management funding bill of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture sponsored by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Kalu was intended to add to its legislative bite since MOUAU is an institution under his constituency. Saying that Aguocha was carried as a passenger in the bill misses the point entirely.

Sponsoring or co-sponsoring of 26 bills and 12 motions in the National Assembly is by no means a record that will be difficult to set by any legislator and as such cannot be trivialize by any form of media propaganda or animus. Even the comparison with the former Rep member, Hon. Sam Onuigbo is tangential to the argument on the table. The hyping of the climate change bill initiated by Sam Onuigbo was afterall a sponsored globalist deal that was brought to deindustrialize stuffed hard currency in Africa and willing tools like Hon. Sam Onuigbo and his partners at the National Assembly played the game and got rewarded with bags of globalist dollars as their reward. Hon. Obi Aguocha, we all know, distances himself from shady deals that bring disrepute to himself his people. His entire focus remains to stand very tall as a voice for his people, as is the case of Mazi Nnamdi KANU.

We dare tell Chinedum Orji that his egregious and sinister plots against the high performing Obi Aguocha cannot get him to the National Assembly but by accountably following the footsteps and good examples of Aguocha by presenting to Abians his good works in the past, especially when he singlehandedly ran the state government for 16 years that qualifies him to reapply to be given the people’s trumpet. The chicken has indeed come home to roost. We’re watching and also listening.

Mr. Icheku, in his contrived verses, held the subtle views that Aguocha should defect to the ruling party, APC, and belong to the mainstream so his bills can be attended to by the President. What an intellectual mumbo jumbo, an indubitible journey in total emptiness. Aguocha is man of the people and would never betray them for mess of porridge by defecting to APC. This one blackmail again fails.

By all legislative standards, Obi Aguocha in this dispensation remain to many of us, a gentle giant in the National Assembly and a gift to his people of Ikwuano and Umuahia federal constituency. His records so far have dwarfed that of a thousand Chinedum Orji put together.

Chinedum Orji should understand that the National Assembly is not like the State House of Assembly where he made himself the Lord of the manor and often stayed in his bedroom and kitchen to run the affairs of the House. Chinedum Orji was rejected by his people as an incumbent in 2023 and can not stand any chance again of being returned. The people of Ikwuano and Umuahia today know better aa to whom honor should be given. His atrocities and arrogance while he enjoyed very powerful position in the state cannot be forgotten in a hurry. He should focus on first clearing the mess he created as lord of the manor in the state and also clear his name in the EFCC vs T.A Orji and Sons case of embezzlement of N500 billion leveled against them.

His quest to land in the National Assembly by 2027 will remain a pipe dream that can not be actualized. Obi Aguocha’s record of performance has created no vacancy at all. As for Tony Icheku and his thralls, the operating AI encrypted in your clone device will soon crash to open his nyasi.
