Former Ohafia LGA Mayor and Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Abia North, Chief David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, has declared that poor road infrastructure remains one of the greatest drivers of poverty in rural communities, insisting that quality roads are the foundation of economic growth, healthcare access, security, and sustainable development.
Speaking during the 3rd Edition of Bourdex Hour, the renowned businessman argued that roads are far more than transportation corridors—they are strategic investments that unlock commerce, create jobs, save lives, attract businesses, and restore dignity to neglected communities.

Using the analogy of two equally hardworking farmers separated only by the quality of road access, Bourdex maintained that bad roads punish productivity while good roads reward hard work and create opportunities.
He also pledged that, if elected Senator for Abia North, he would leverage the National Assembly’s budget and oversight powers to secure increased federal road projects for the zone, while complementing Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR’s ongoing infrastructure revolution across Abia State.
According to Bourdex, “A road is a promise that no community will be abandoned. My vision is to restore hope, dignity, and prosperity to every village in Abia North.”
