Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, has returned all glory to God following the successful birth of triplets to his younger brother, Barr. Chima Lekwachi Emetu, and his wife, Barr. Mrs. Ada Chima Emetu, describing the development as a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness and boundless grace.

The thanksgiving and dedication service for the newborns was held on Sunday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amaekpu Ohafia, attracting family members, friends, well-wishers and members of the church community who gathered to celebrate what was widely described as a rare and remarkable blessing.

Speaking on behalf of the Emetu family, the Deputy Governor expressed deep gratitude to God for preserving the lives of the mother and the babies throughout the pregnancy and delivery period. He also appreciated the church for its prayers, support and spiritual guidance.

According to him, the birth of the triplets stands as a reminder that God still answers prayers and blesses His people beyond human expectations.

“Today we celebrate not just the gift of life but the abundance of God’s blessings. Where one child would have been a joy, God multiplied that joy threefold. These precious children are living reminders that miracles still happen and that God’s faithfulness endures forever,” Emetu stated.

He noted that the entire family remained overwhelmed with gratitude, describing the arrival of the children as God’s transformation of prayers into testimonies and expectations into praise.

In a major announcement during the thanksgiving service, the Deputy Governor disclosed that the Emetu family would sponsor the installation of a solar power system for St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amaekpu Ohafia.

He explained that the project was conceived as an act of thanksgiving to God and appreciation to the church community for its unwavering prayers and support.

Emetu said the family was motivated by the need to provide a lasting solution to the power challenges affecting the parish and to enhance worship activities and other church programmes.

“On behalf of the Emetu family, and in appreciation of all your prayers, goodwill and support, we are committing ourselves to the permanent restoration of power in this church through the installation of a sustainable solar energy system,” he announced.

Earlier in his homily, Rev. Fr. Clifford Ogbonna, drawing from Psalm 127:3, described children as a heritage from God and emphasized that every child is a manifestation of divine goodness.

He described the triplets as living evidence of God’s limitless grace and urged parents to raise their children in the fear of God so they can become instruments of positive transformation in society.

The cleric also congratulated the Emetu family for their steadfast faith throughout the period of expectation and prayed for God’s continued protection, wisdom and favour upon the children.

Also speaking, the Parish Priest of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Amaekpu Ohafia, Rev. Fr. Francis Osonduabuike Maduagwu, commended the Emetu family for the solar power initiative, describing it as a thoughtful intervention that would greatly improve church activities and worship services.

He noted that the gesture reflected the family’s longstanding commitment to the work of God and community development, while offering prayers for God’s continued blessings upon them.

The thanksgiving service ended in an atmosphere of celebration, praise and gratitude as worshippers, relatives and friends joined the Emetu family in celebrating what many described as “three miracles in one testimony.”

The event further underscored the family’s enduring faith and commitment to giving back to the church and society in appreciation of God’s abundant blessings.
