Mallam Gani Audu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Edo State, commended the Bridge Builders Initiative for Green Nigeria (BBIGN), describing it as a formidable group. He highlighted the organization’s focus on sensitizing grassroots communities regarding the programs and policies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Hon. Gani Audu made these remarks during a courtesy visit from members of the group’s executive on Monday, September 15, 2025. The purpose of the visit was to formally inform him about BBIGN’s initiatives aimed at supporting the APC and President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

During the visit, Hon. Comrade Stanley Okpugie, the National Director of Rules, Ethics, and Protocols for BBIGN, explained the group’s mission and agenda to the Chief of Staff. He emphasized that BBIGN is dedicated to raising awareness among grassroots communities about the importance of supporting President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative and the APC’s programs designed to alleviate the challenges faced both in Nigeria and globally.

Comrade Okpugie further described BBIGN’s structure, which spans from the national level down to the state, local government, and ward levels, stating, “This is aimed at ensuring that we reach the grassroots.”

In response, Hon. Gani Audu praised the initiative, saying, “This group is commendable. When people are aware of the need for good leadership, everyone will participate in the political process.”

He added, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu started from scratch. I believe he is the most sincere of all the presidents we have had in this country. Among all the candidates who contested against Tinubu in 2023, he stands out. We need to exercise some patience with him. It is amusing to see some people who ruled Nigeria from 1999 to 2023 criticizing President Tinubu. Repairing the damage done to the country over many years is not an easy task, and I don’t expect it to be accomplished in just two years. There is no point in deceiving ourselves; the country was already struggling before Tinubu took office.”

Hon. Gani Audu cited instances of bold actions taken by Tinubu, such as the removal of the subsidy—which had been a scam—the introduction of interest-free loans for students, the coastal road project, and other initiatives. He concluded that if Nigerians are patient and allow these initiatives time to mature, they will significantly improve the country’s situation.

In conclusion, Hon. Gani Audu expressed his desire to collaborate with BBIGN to promote the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the grassroots level, especially considering that their governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has promised to deliver 2.5 million votes from Edo State in the upcoming 2027 presidential election.
